物聯網介紹

  • Internet of Things 一詞最早由誰提出的,目前有兩種說法。
    • 第一種說法是由Kevin Ashton於1999年時在向寶僑(P&G)報告關於供應鏈管理(Supply Chain Management)文章中的標題中所提出的[1]
    • 第二種說法則是由國際電信聯盟(ITU)於2005年所提出[2]
  • 「物聯網」係指在網路化的時代下,除了人跟人之間可以透過網路相互聯繫,人跟物件、物件與物件之間,也可以透過網路環境互通。Forrester Research預測,2020年前全球物聯網產值將是網際網路的30倍,根據賽迪調查機構預估,2015年物聯網產值將達7500億元人民幣。為此,歐洲、日本、韓國與中國大陸等各國,爭先恐後推動物聯網發展計劃。
  • 物聯網整合了資訊傳感設備,如無線辨識系統(RFID)、紅外線感應器、全球定位系統、雷射掃瞄器等,加上智慧辨識與處理技術、高速計算機處理能力等系統裝置,並與雲端運算及網際網路結合,使各種物品在生產、流通、消費的各個過程,可以自動化識別、資訊互聯共享等,可說是未來十年科技應用的新潮流。

IERC

  • EUROPE’S IoT STRATEGIC RESEARCH AGENDA 2012
    Internet of Things (IoT) enables the objects in our environment to become active participants, i.e., they share information with other members of the network or with any other stakeholder and they are capable of recognizing events and changes in their surroundings and of acting and reacting autonomously in an appropriate manner. In this context the research and development challenges to create a smart world are enormous. A world where the real, digital and the virtual are converging to create smart environments that make energy, transport, cities and many other areas more intelligent.

  • The concept goal of the Internet of Things is to enable things to be connected anytime, anyplace, with anything and anyone ideally using any path/ network and any service. Internet of Things is a new revolution of the Internet. Objects make themselves recognizable and they obtain intelligence thanks to the fact that they can communicate information about themselves and they can access information that has been aggregated by other things. For example - alarm clocks will go off early if there’s traffic; plants will communicate to the sprinkler system when it’s time for them to be watered; running shoes communicate time, speed and distance so that the wearer can compete in real time with people on the other side of the world; medicine containers tell your family members if you forget to take the medicine. All objects can play an active role thanks to their connection to the Internet.

CERP-IoT

  • CERP-IoT SRA V1.1
    The Internet of Things allows people and things to be connected Anytime, Anyplace, with Anything and Anyone, ideally using Any path/network and Any service. This implies addressing elements such as Convergence, Content, Collections (Repositories), Computing, Communication, and Connectivity in the context where there is seamless interconnection between people and things and/or between things and things so the A and C elements are present and addressed.

物聯網的定義

IERC

  • IERC involved in ITU-T and has formulated the following proposed definition:
    “In a broad perspective, the IoT can be perceived as a vision with technological and societal implications. From the perspective of technical standardization, IoT can be viewed as a global infrastructure for the information(knowledge) society, enabling advanced services by interconnecting (physical and virtual) things based on, existing and evolving, interoperable information and communication technologies. Through the exploitation of identification, data capture, processing and communication capabilities, the IoT makes full use of things to offer services to all kinds of applications, whilst maintaining the required privacy.”

  • The IERC definition states that IoT is:
    "A dynamic global network infrastructure with self-configuring capabilities based on standard and interoperable communication protocols where physical and virtual “things” have identities, physical attributes, and virtual personalities and use intelligent interfaces, and are seamlessly integrated into the information network."

  • Nikola Tesla in an interview with Colliers magazine in 1926 stated:
    "When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain, which in fact it is, all things being particles of a real and rhythmic whole.........and the instruments through which we shall be able to do this will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket."

  • Mark Weiser's Scientific American article on ubiquitous computing ‘The Computer for the 21st Century’, discuss about the fact that:
    “The most profound technologies are those that disappear. They weave themselves into the fabric of everyday life until they are indistinguishable from it”

  • Kevin Ashton in an article in RFID Journal declared that:
    "I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure the phrase "Internet of Things" started life as the title of a presentation I made at Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 1999"

  • Neil Gershenfeld published his book "When Things Start to Think" and stated:
    “in retrospect it looks like the rapid growth of the World Wide Web may have been just the trigger charge that is now setting off the real explosion, as things start to use the Net.”
